DESCRIPTION OF SUBJECT

OCCUPATIONAL FIELDS AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Subsequent non-teaching occupational fields

On the basis of the goals of the BA-English-Speaking Cultures (http://www.fb10.uni-bremen.de/anglistik/ba2/langinfo.aspx), students will work out selected questions. They will then reflect upon these questions and transfer them to English lessons / the English language classroom. An integral part of the Master of Education is the practical phase in semester 2 at schools in Bremen.

Teacher training (Lehramt)

After completing their Referendariat period, graduates are qualified teachers in the following school subjects:

  • Grundschule
  • Gymnasien und Oberschulen
  • Berufsbildende Schulen
  • Inklusive Pädagogik/Sonderpädagogik an Grundschulen

Possibilities for additional qualifications

Graduates qualify for admission to doctoral studies.

In order to qualify as a teacher at state schools in Germany it is mandatory to complete an 18-month period of teaching practice in school, ending with the second state exam.

Supplementary/optional courses
The Certificate Program Foundation Studies in Digital Media for Education is an optional course for students studying education related subjects.

Hinweis für Fortgeschrittene:

Fortgeschrittene Studierende, die ihr Bachelorstudium nicht an der Universität Bremen abgeschlossen haben, können nur zum Wintersemester zum 3. Fachsemester zugelassen werden. Sie müssen zudem Studien- und Prüfungsleistungen für das erste und zweite Fachsemester nachweisen.

Fortgeschrittene Studierende, die ihr Bachelorstudium an der Universität Bremen abgeschlossen haben, können beim Nachweis von mindestens 10 CP aus dem M.Ed.-Studium, der Zugangsvoraussetzungen sowie der nachgewiesenen Zulassung zum Praxissemester als Fortgeschrittene zum Sommersemester aufgenommen werden.
